Red and Brown Gem Proof
1864 2C Large Motto PR65 Red and Brown NGC. CAC. Though the
Large Motto 1864 is the most common business date, it ranks among
the rarest proof issues. The actual production was undoubtedly
greater than the traditional mintage of 100 pieces, but NGC has
certified a total of just 128 pieces over the years. Well struck
and flashy with slightly mellowed orange-red and olive-gold
surfaces. Minute carbon is scattered. Housed in a prior generation
