1864 Large Motto Two Cent
PR66 Red and Brown Cameo

1864 2C Large Motto PR66 Red and Brown Cameo NGC. Brown devices prevail against mostly gold and orange in the fields. Far more Red than Brown survives on this Premium Gem proof two cent, a well-preserved example of this first-year type coin. Blatant contrast exists between the reflective, mirrored fields and well-frosted devices. The surfaces on each side are free of mentionable contact. A few darker flecks appear amid the toning but require a loupe to see, and they certainly fail to detract from the eye appeal. This is the sole finest Red and Brown Cameo at NGC, although one Brown Cameo of the date is found in PR67 (6/15).
