Description
Proof 1865 Two Cent Piece, Unique Cameo Designation
1865 2C PR65 Cameo PCGS. This is an underrated proof Two Cent issue with full Red luster. Most survivors of this second-year delivery display partially lustrous surfaces at best, but this specimen is alive with rich, even, orange-red color. Deeply set olive tinged undertones are evident as the coin turns away from the light, and there is appreciable contrast between the fields and devices. This is the only proof 1865 Two Cent piece certified with a Cameo designation (7/02).Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 83629, GSID# 2720)
Metal: 95% Copper, 5% Tin & zinc
