1865 2C PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. Original mint-orange color fades to light-brown over both sides of this Gem proof two-cent piece. The fields are reflective and attractive, with sharply struck devices throughout. The two cent denomination flashed only brief acceptance by the public, soon to be replaced in the minds and pockets of the populace by three cent nickels. Population: 35 in 65 Red and Brown, 14 finer (4/15).(Registry values: N991)
