Description

Proof 64 Red 1866 Two Cent Piece

1866 2C PR64 Red PCGS. While not an especially rare proof in terms of total number of coins known, the 1866 is surprisingly elusive with full mint luster. In addition to warm, mostly even, orange tinged color, the present example is sharply impressed with modest, yet attractive brightness in the fields. The only mentionable carbon spot is located on the reverse over the upper left wreath.
