Description

1866 Two Cent, PR65 Red
Impeccable Strike and Preservation

1866 2C PR65 Red PCGS. The brick-red surfaces of this lovely Gem proof early two cent piece reveal little in the way of either carbon or contact, a coin seemingly deserving of a higher grade. The proof strike is full throughout, and the eye appeal is very high. A reported 725 pieces were struck of this proof issue, but it is a certainty that few Red examples survive so fine. Population: 32 in 65 Red, 6 finer (7/16).(Registry values: N1793)
