Description

Outstanding PR66 Red Cameo 1866 Two Cent

1866 2C PR66 Red Cameo NGC. A pale and beautiful third-year proof two cent coin with primarily copper-gold surfaces that show occasional sea-green accents. Frost is light but a cameo effect is present, particularly on the reverse, and the watery mirrors supply reflectivity. A few tiny flyspecks hide within the vertical stripes of the shield, but there are few flaws otherwise. Between the noteworthy color, the contrast, and the preservation, this is among the best proof 1866 two cent pieces out there, and the condition-conscious odd-denomination enthusiast should take a long look at this specimen.(Registry values: P2)
