1866 Two Cent, PR66+ Red Cameo
The Sole Finest Cameo Certified

1866 2C PR66+ Red Cameo PCGS. Full Red examples of the proof 1866 two cent piece are scarce across all grades, and Cameo-designated pieces are decidedly rare. A half-dozen Premium Gem Red coins are the finest Cameos at PCGS, and the present Plus-graded example stands out among these as the sole finest (9/16). The coin is fully struck and displays vivid coppery-orange and reddish color without distracting carbon spots. Field-device contrast is immediately apparent on each side, unlike on many other Cameo-designated coins for which one side or the other is slightly lacking in presentation. This high-end Red Cameo is a must-have item for the Registry Set enthusiast.(Registry values: P2)
