Description
1866 Two Cent, PR66 Red Deep Cameo
Sole Deep Cameo Certified
1866 2C PR66 Red Deep Cameo PCGS. The 1866 proof two cent
piece is not particularly rare in the absolute sense, but
contrasted examples are. Only a handful of Cameos are known, and
this Premium Gem Red coin is the sole Deep Cameo certified
(4/16). The field-device contrast is superb, delivered by deep
coppery-red mirrors and sharp, frosty design elements. There are no
carbon specks or contact marks. Eye appeal is superb. Our Auction
Archives show previous appearances of only 11 Cameos in more than
two decades, including reappearances. But never before has this
Deep Cameo been offered at auction. The Registry Set collector
should not pass this piece by.(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 93632, GSID# 2726)
