Description
1869 2C PR65 Red and Brown NGC. CAC. An olive-brown reverse complements the tangerine-orange obverse of this Gem Red and Brown 1869 proof. A few small bits of toning appear on the central obverse, although the shield and wreath nonetheless display modest contrast. The strike is sharp, and eye appeal is pleasing. Census: 55 in 65 Red and Brown, 29 finer. CAC: 23 in 65, 13 finer (4/16).From The Rev. Dr. James G. K. McClure Collection.(Registry values: N991)
