1869 Two Cent, PR66 Red
1869 2C PR66 Red NGC. Fire-red and golden-orange surfaces on this Premium Gem proof show considerable if unacknowledged field-device contrast and no mentionable post-strike contact. A few dark flecks appear only under a loupe. Most survivors of this proof issue of an estimated 600 coins are either in lower numeric grades or in the Red and Brown or Brown categories.
