Description

1869 Two Cent, PR66 Red
Attractive Toning

1869 2C PR66 Red PCGS. Shades of magenta and gold complement this copper-orange two cent proof, one of at least 600 such pieces manufactured in 1869 (the exact distribution was unrecorded). The reverse displays a slight cameo effect. Preservation and strike are both top-notch, as expected. A curious planchet defect occurs above the N in IN, but it does not affect the appeal. Population: 14 in 66 Red, 0 finer (1/18).(Registry values: N2998)
