1870 Two Cent Piece, PR66 Red
Outstanding Eye Appeal

1870 2C PR66 Red PCGS. In 1870, the production of proof two cent pieces was 1,000+ pieces, the largest mintage of proofs for the series. A gorgeous Red Premium Gem example, this piece is encapsulated in a green label holder. The coin exhibits light wheat-gold color overall, with closer examination revealing shades of orange, green, tan, and light golden-brown. An intricate strike and lustrous surfaces are additional attributes of this exceptional coin. PCGS and NGC combined have graded only 23 coins at this level, with NGC having graded the only two finer examples (11/13).
