1871 2C PR65+ Red NGC. It is estimated that about 960 proof two cent pieces were struck in 1871 and the date is quite rare in grades above the Gem level. The original orange-red surfaces of this high-end Gem display an occasional light brown freckle, and show minimum signs of contact. The design elements are sharply detailed throughout and the fields are deeply reflective. Census: 30 in 65 (1 in 65+) Red, 8 finer (8/13).(Registry values: N1793)
