Iridescent 1871 Two Cent Piece
PR66 Red and Brown

1871 2C PR66 Red and Brown NGC. Remarkably clean, unspotted surfaces display pleasing orange-tan patination imbued with splashes of sky-blue and lavender. The design elements are sharply struck in all areas. The reflectivity of the fields is somewhat subdued by the toning, but this should not be considered a detracting feature on this appealing proof. One of about 960 pieces struck. Census: 21 in 66 Red and Brown, 1 finer (1/10).(Registry values: N1793)
