Description
Magnificent 1871 Superb Red Proof Two Cent Piece
1871 2C PR67 Red PCGS. A Superb, brightly mirrored Gem, unfaded in its century and a quarter of existence and boasting eye appeal that few proof Two Cent pieces can match. Both sides are wonderfully original and impart a bright, copper-red appearance, with this color changing to green-gold and magenta at the border areas. Even close examination with a loupe fails to reveal any blemishes, marks, or mentionable carbon spots. There is slight doubling on the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. Housed in an early PCGS holder. This coin is tied with only one other at NGC as the finest known (12/04).(#3647) (Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22NH, PCGS# 3647, GSID# 2749)
