Description

1872 2C PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. This Gem proof is much more red than brown, the latter color chiefly confined to the reverse high points. A sharply struck coin revealing scattered carbon under a loupe, far from overt. The meager proof mintage was 950 pieces, and PCGS has seen only 19 Red and Brown examples numerically finer (3/14).(Registry values: N991)
