Description

1872 Two Cent Piece, PR66 Red and Brown
Sharp, Mostly Red

1872 2C PR66 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. Due to the rarity of high-grade circulation strikes, the proof 1872 two cent piece draws heightened demand. This Premium Gem example is razor-sharp and modestly reflective. Both sides display rich orange-gold luster, but faint burgundy-brown hues on the reverse prompt the Red and Brown designation. A pair of tiny specks near the obverse rim at 3 o'clock are the only sign of carbon. Population: 24 in 66 (1 in 66+) Red and Brown, 1 finer (11/15).(Registry values: N1793)
