1873 Two Cent Piece, Closed 3, PR63 Brown
Last Date of Denomination
1873 2C Closed 3 PR63 Brown NGC. Two cent pieces were only
produced in proof format in 1873, and the original mintage can be
distinguished from the later restrikes by the Closed 3 in the date.
This Select example exhibits brown surfaces revealing hints of
golden-brown, yellow-green, plum, and violet. A few spots appear,
with one on the reverse accompanied by a few faint marks. Census:
