Description

Pleasing 1873 Closed 3 Two Cent, PR63 Brown

1873 2C Closed 3 PR63 Brown PCGS. CAC. Around 600 proofs are believed to have been struck of the Closed 3 variant. This is an especially pleasing example that has much red intermixed with the overall brown patina. There are no obvious marks on the piece, and the coloration would mask them in any case. The strike is sharp but not quite complete on the leaves. Population: 24 in 63 Brown, 47 finer (4/09).(Registry values: N1793)
