1873 Two Cent Piece, PR64 Brown
Original Closed 3 Variety
1873 2C Closed 3 PR64 Brown PCGS. CAC. Two cent pieces were
only produced in proof format in 1873, and the original mintage can
be distinguished from the later restrikes by the Closed 3 in the
date. This sharply detailed Choice example exhibits dark brown
surfaces with highlights of original red and intense reflectivity.
Population: 53 in 64 (1 in 64+) Brown, 40 finer. CAC: 8 in 64, 23
finer (8/20).Ex: October Signature (Heritage, 10/2011), lot 3285.
