1873 Closed 3 Two Cent, PR64 Red
1873 2C Closed 3 PR64 Red PCGS. The 600 1873-dated Closed 3 two cent pieces rang down the curtain on this short-lived numismatic play; the Open 3 pieces were struck years later, apparently, to satisfy numismatic demand for the rare proof-only date. Pale reddish-orange on the devices contrasts against reddish-lavender fields on both sides. Few marks are present and only an occasional dark fleck.
