Description
Splendid 1873 Closed 3 Two Cent
PR65 Red and Brown
1873 2C Closed 3 PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. Attractive
magenta, mahogany, and rose-red colors intermingle on the surfaces
of this highly reflective Gem. The strike is razor-sharp, and a
loupe locates only a couple of pin-sized handling marks. The
Guide Book estimates only 600 Closed 3 proofs were struck.
An excellent example of this final, proof-only two cent issue. From The Thrifty Scot Collection.(Registry values: N1793)
