Description
PCGS 1873 Closed 3 PR 65 Red. Final year of issue and a proof-only date. Only 600 pieces were originally struck minus an unknown number that were melted in July. The fields of the coin are not bright and if one did not known that only proofs were struck this year, it would be tempting to call this a business strike. The surfaces are an even pumpkin-orange color and there are no superficial flaws, only a tiny spot or two of carbon on each side. Population: 14 in 65, 6 finer.
