Near-Gem 1873 Open 3 Two Cent

1873 2C Open 3 PR64 Brown PCGS. The final-year two cent date was only issued in proof format. Closed 3 pieces are considered originals, while Open 3 examples are traditionally referred to as restrikes. The "restrikes," however, may also have been struck in 1873, and sold in sets with the Open 3 Arrows proof Seated coins. A boldly defined representative with mark-free surfaces and original pumpkin-gold, aquamarine, and lilac patina. Housed in a green label holder.(Registry values: N1793)
