1873 Two Cent, PR64 Red and Brown
Satiny Open 3 Proof Type Coin
1873 2C Open 3 PR64 Red and Brown PCGS. A razor-sharp Open 3
proof with soft, satiny fields and uniform burnt-orange patina that
balances between copper-red and light chestnut. Neither side has a
mentionable contact mark or other imperfection. Only proof two cent
pieces were struck dated 1873. Closed 3 coins are original
strikings, while many numismatists consider Open 3 coins to be
