Lovely PR65 Brown 1873 Open 3 Two Cent
1873 2C Open 3 PR65 Brown NGC. CAC. One of an estimated 500 examples of the "restrike" or Open 3 two cent proof issue of 1873. The present Gem, though labeled as Brown, nonetheless shows considerable copper-gold dappled with the mahogany and olive shadings that prevail on each side. Strongly struck and well-preserved, though a small planchet flaw is visible near the right arrow feathers.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2754, PCGS# 3654, GSID# 2760)
