1873 Open 3 Two Cent Piece
PR65 Brown, Even Color
1873 2C Open 3 PR65 Brown PCGS. CAC. Restrike 1873 two cent
pieces all have an open 3 in the date. But an even easier
diagnostic that appears to be common to all Open 3s is flatness on
the horizontal shield lines, apparently from some sort of die
damage or clogging of the die. This example has even brown patina
over both sides. Only a couple of spots are seen on obverse and
reverse. Population: 7 in 65 Brown, 0 finer (5/11).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2754, PCGS# 3654, GSID# 2760)
