Open 3 Variant
1873 2C Open 3 PR66 Brown PCGS. CAC. Easily attributed by
the weak shield lines on the obverse shield, it is estimated that
around 500 restrikes were coined sometime after the initial
emission of Original Closed 3 proofs. While labeled Brown, the
surfaces, especially the fields are bright and retain significant
underlying mint red. Population: 4 in 66 (1 in 66+) Brown, 0 finer
