1936 50C PR63 NGC. A satiny and lightly toned specimen that has a hint of cameo contrast. The low mintages of 1936 proofs can be explained by two factors. It was the first year for proofs in a generation, and in an era long before Coin World and internet message boards, not all collectors were aware that proof production had resumed.
