Description

1936 Half Dollar, PR66
A Problem-Free, High Grade Example

1936 50C PR66 PCGS. A mere 3,901 proof halves were struck in 1936, and unfortunately a rather high percentage were mishandled. As a result, there are far fewer high grade survivors known of this issue, as a percentage of the mintage, than one might expect. This is a mostly brilliant coin with a hazy overlay of golden-yellow patina on each side. A defect-free example of this important first-year proof issue.(Registry values: N2998)
