Description
Premium Gem Proof 1936 Half Dollar
1936 50C PR66 PCGS. The smaller denomination coins, particularly cents and nickels as well as a few dimes, are known with two different surfaces qualities, satin and brilliant. To date, there have not been any quarters or half dollars located with a satin type of finish. All examples have the brilliant finish as does this one. This Gem Proof comes very close to qualifying as a Cameo Proof with brilliant silver devices and deeply mirrored fields. These fields are graced by light iridescent toning. This is one of several attractive proof half dollars of this issue.(#6636) (Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27V4, PCGS# 6636, GSID# 6764)
