Description
Superb Gem Proof 1936 Walking Liberty Half
1936 50C PR67 NGC. Only 3,901 proof halves were struck in 1936, the first year of official proof production for this denomination since 1915. As with the other denominations from this year, the proof half (when encountered) has often been cleaned or shows some signs of mishandling. This is a Superb Gem proof that shows evidence of having been struck from heavily polished dies, with the resultant deep mirrors in the fields. The coin basically presents as brilliant but it has a slight overlay of rose-lilac toning when closely examined.
