1936 50C PR67+ PCGS. CAC. The 1936 marks the inaugural
coinage of proofs in the Walking Liberty half dollar series,
coinciding with the reintroduction of proof sets after they were on
hiatus since 1916. Only 3,901 proof 1936 Walkers were produced, and
the date is the scarcest in the series. Both sides of this
magnificent and colorful proof offer lemon-yellow highlights
presiding over a varied palette of rainbow iridescence including
violet, blue, emerald-green, pink, and amber-gold hues. The
surfaces are essentially pristine, yielding eye appeal well beyond
expectations even at this high-end Superb Gem grade. Only a single
example at PCGS is numerically finer. PCGS Population: 24 in 67+, 1
