1939 50C PR68+ NGC. CAC. The seven-year run of Walking
Liberty proofs increased production during each year, reaching
8,808 examples in 1939. Examples from 1939 are plentiful from PR65
to PR67 and become challenging in PR68. NGC shows just 11 pieces
tied at PR68+ and a lone proof at PR69 (4/26). This Plus-graded
Superb Gem is fully struck and virtually flawless, as expected for
such a lofty grade. Subtle bands of pastel rainbow toning float
along the reflective and semi-brilliant surfaces for exceptional
