Description

1941 Half Dollar, PR68+
Sole Finest PCGS Coin We Have Seen
Tied for Finest at PCGS and CAC

1941 50C PR68+ PCGS. CAC. Beautifully struck and equally well preserved, this high-end CAC proof type coin displays full definition and deep, glimmering fields. Vivid rainbow toning paints much of the obverse margins, especially on the left, with tighter rings around the reverse periphery. The interiors are mostly brilliant. Neither side exhibits bothersome marks or hairlines.

The 1941 proof is plentiful and collectible even in PR68, but Plus-designated or CAC-approved coins in this grade are rare, and none are finer a PCGS (10/25). This is the first Plus-designated PCGS coin in this grade we have handled. PCGS Population: 62 in 68 (6 in 68+), 0 finer. CAC: 30 in 68, 0 finer (10/25).(Registry values: N2998)
