Stunning 1942 Half Dollar, PR68
1942 50C PR68 NGC. Deep magenta, violet, fire-red, and gold patina surrounds the centers, which are silver-gray peppered with purple accents. The devices are nicely frosted, while the fields show some glassy reflectivity. The strike is nearly full, and both sides appear pristine to the unaided eye. NGC and PCGS combined have certified just five proofs finer (7/09).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27V9, PCGS# 6642, GSID# 6783)
