1936 Washington Quarter, PR67
Near-Perfect Preservation
1936 25C PR67 NGC. Resumption of proof coinage in 1936
featured a lower relief format and a low mintage compared to
subsequent years. The new, first-year proofs numbered just 3,837
pieces. This Superb Gem is a nearly perfect example of the issue.
Both sides are mostly brilliant, with a faint speckling of gold
toning on the obverse and wisps of gold at the reverse margins.
Essentially flawless fields display moderate mirroring usually seen
on the inaugural proofs, but the strike is sharp, and only one
piece is certified numerically finer at either service. Census: 26
