Description

1937 Washington Quarter, PR68
Clear Condition Rarity

1937 25C PR68 PCGS. While the first proof Washington quarters, struck in 1936, are the most famous of their series, the second-year issue of 1937 presents significant challenges as well. With a net mintage of only 5,542 pieces, high-grade examples are challenging and grades above PR67 are prohibitively rare. This PR68 coin is one of only three so certified by PCGS with none numerically finer at that service (2/15). Both sides show rich, colorful patina, sea-green along much of the outer margins with vivid blue and gunmetal hues on the interior. The bright reflectivity shines throughout the fields.(Registry values: N1793)
