Delightful Gem 1837 Half Dollar
1837 50C MS65 NGC. Although the 1837 is plentiful in Fine to Very Fine, Gems are decidedly rare. The issue is seldom encountered with either intense cartwheel sheen or unblemished fields, as seen on the present gorgeous example. Light peripheral russet-gold toning contributes further to the eye appeal. A popular two-year type, particularly since the 1836 has a very low mintage.
