Eye-Catching 1839 Capped Bust Half, MS64
1839 50C MS64 PCGS. CAC. An attractive ring of violet and deep red toning encircles the silver-gray center of the obverse, while the reverse exhibits a more mottled mix of those colors. Flashy luster radiates from the minimally marked surfaces. A sharply struck and appealing example of the final Capped Bust half dollar issue. NGC and PCGS combined have certified only a dozen examples finer (8/09).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24G6, PCGS# 6179, GSID# 6223)
