Description

1837 Half Dollar, MS63
GR-24, Condition Census Quality

1837 50C GR-24, R.2, MS63 PCGS. Die lines around the top of the eagle's left (facing) wing and within the left part of the shield verticals aid in attribution. GR-24 is a plentiful variety that can be located in high grades. This softly lustrous Select example qualifies for the low end of the Condition Census. Gold-toned interiors merge with shades of violet and cobalt-blue around the borders. The portrait, most stars, and the eagle show strong detail. Minimally abraded.
