Octavian, as Sole Imperator (31-27 BC). AV aureus (21mm, 8.00 gm, 5h). NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 3/5, brushed. Italian mint (Rome?), autumn 30-summer 29 BC. Bare head of Octavian right; linear border / IMP-CAESAR, Victory standing facing on globe decorated with celestial bands, wings spread, head left, wreath in right hand, transverse vexillum in left hand over shoulder; linear border. RIC I 268. Calicó 205 (Nicomedia or Nicaea) = Biaggi 104 (same dies). Struck from dies of lovely style. Breathtakingly beautiful in hand.
