Luminous Elizabeth 5 Roubles in Mint State

Elizabeth gold 5 Roubles 1756 MS61 NGC, Moscow mint, KM-C27.1, Bitkin-47 (R1), Fr-124. A remarkable example of this Moscow produced 5 Roubles featuring Empress Elizabeth, awarded with a coveted Mint State assignment by NGC. Representatives from this series certified in Mint State are few and far between, with each auction occurrence being a major boon for collectors patiently waiting for examples of such immense quality to bid on. The luster on this piece has an ethereal quality, silhouetting Elizabeth's well-struck portrait and the other raised motifs with endearing luminescence. This specimen is beautifully centered, the only real detractions worthy of mention are mint-made: a few small flan deformities on either side of Elizabeth's head. Heritage has never had the pleasure of presenting a Mint State example of this issue, from either St. Petersburg or Moscow, so we look forward to witnessing the excitement that will accompany this piece's sale come auction day.
