Excessively Rare "St. Andrew" Pattern 5 Roubles

Elizabeth gold Novodel Pattern 5 Roubles 1755-CПБ MS62 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, KM-N23, Bitkin-H556 (R4), Fr-114a. 7.22gm. The fantastic counterpart piece to the "Large Cross/St. Andrew" reverse Pattern from the preceding lot, this variant displaying a smaller rendition of the St. Andrew Cross that is confined within a shield covering the Eagle's breast. An additional design difference shows the legend on this type completely encircling the reverse, pushing the date slightly further down to the point where the eagle's crown bisects the numerals. Close examination of the auction images from the Goldberg Sale #36 in May of 2006 suggests the present coin is the same specimen from lot 3313, directly following the same exact Hesselgesser "Large Cross" 5 Roubles Pattern in this auction, as it did nearly 20 years ago in Beverly Hills. The Mint-State piece on offer here is not as Prooflike as the representative from the preceding lot, but it is still fully brilliant and a beautiful specimen in its own right. We are thrilled to offer these two exceedingly rare Elizabeth gold Novodels back-to-back, and whether they stay together in their continued journey or place in separate collections, we are sure they will be celebrated and cared for like the numismatic treasures they are.

極珍罕的「聖安得烈」5盧布金樣幣

1755-CПБ年伊莉莎白Novodel 5盧布金樣幣。MS62 NGC。
聖彼得堡造幣廠。7.22克。這枚超凡卓絕的例子與先前一項的背面「大十字 / 聖安得烈」樣幣可謂相得益彰。此版別的聖安得烈十字較為細小，置於由鷹徽環抱的盾牌上。而另一項區別在於銘文圍繞整個背面，年份稍低並以鷹首分隔數字。若仔細觀看2006年5月Goldberg第36期拍賣的圖像，可發現當前此枚即為當時的拍品號3313，而前一項正為是次拍賣的Hesselgesser「大十字」5盧布樣幣，換言之近二十年前比華山的情景再次出現。這枚原廠狀態例子之類精製效果不及前一項顯著，但仍光芒四溢，別具美感。敝司對於有幸將兩枚難得一見的伊莉莎白Novodel金幣再次相連呈獻感到萬分光榮，不論這兩枚金幣將會繼續形影不離抑或散逸他去，都定必會受到專業高階的錢幣大家悉心保存愛護。
