Nicholas I. 1-1/2 Family Rouble 1835, obverse and reverse signed in full ?. ?. ?????? (Paul Utkin), Bust of Nicholas I right/Bust of Empress Alexandra in the center, facing right, surrounded by busts of the Royal children in circles. Bit-885, Uzd-4204, Julian-1247, MS61 NGC. Nicely mirrored surfaces with hints of gold and sea-green toning. Light hairlines and contact marks are present as one might expect of the grade. Exceedingly rare and the second most elusive of the Family Ruble issues. We can trace few offerings of this variety, and none since 2003.From the St. Petersburg Collection.
