Extremely Rare Medallic 10 Roubles

Nicholas I gold Proof "Coronation" Medallic 10 Roubles 1836 PR61 Cameo NGC, KM-Unl., Fr-152, Bit-M883, Diakov-533.1, Sev-425. 27.5mm. 16.5gm. Plain edge. By H. Gube. An exceedingly rare type, and the first of its kind that we have seen to date, this medallic 10 Rouble issue was struck to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Nicholas I of Russia's reign. The obverse features the conjoined busts of the Czar and Czarina, the reverse displaying the Russian crown and Nicholas's monogram within an ornate wreath. Impressively detailed throughout, with admirable golden frost residing over precisely engraved and sharply struck features to lend a clear cameo effect. A very rare and perhaps unique opportunity for our bidders to acquire an example of this elusive issue.

Metal: Gold
Diameter: 27.5mm
