Arguably the most desirable issue of the entire 10 Roubles series, this Peter III emission is often one of the crowning achievements of major collections of Russian numismatics. On the special occasion one of these treasures features at public auction, chances are it will not be in as high quality as the coin on offer. This piece likely never saw time in circulation, just mild handling from adoring hands through the centuries to account for the light abrasions and high-point rub that define the assignment bestowed by NGC. As such, much of the mint-imparted brilliance is still intact on this coin, providing a clear window into what this famous issue might have looked like the day it was minted in that fateful year of 1762.
