Stunning Novodel Pattern Rouble of Peter III
Peter III silver Novodel Pattern Rouble 1762-CПБ MS61 NGC,
St. Petersburg mint, Bit-H47 (R3), Diakov-2.2.2-N14. An
exhilarating Pattern and a type we haven't handled since the D.
Moore specimen, an AU58, in 2017; there of a more common edge
variety with five in NGC's census. On offer is the sole certified
specimen and just the third to come to market in the last 40 years.
Featuring a most attractive iridescence throughout, it's clear the
piece spent considerable type is a discerning cabinet. The elevated
visual character remains complimented by a laudable boldness owed
to a firm strike, revealing even the most minute detail to Peter's
armor and reverse crowns, likely carrying this specimen to it's
