    Description

Livonia & Estonia. Elizabeth 96 Kopecks (Rouble) 1757 XF45 NGC, Red mint, KM5, Uzd-4226, Diakov-604, Bitkin-627. Even, deep gray tone, with some minor flan flaws typical for the series.

The Baltic provinces of Livonia and Estonia fell under Russian domination following Sweden's loss in the Great Northern War and the ratification of the Treaty of Nystad in 1721. This marked an eventual decline in Sweden's power within the region, and conversely, a gradual rise for Russia, as these territories presented the latter with access to the Baltic, a key component in military and economic strength.
